Images You Can Own

Not everyone needs a photographer, but everyone likes photographs. I create images of landscapes, wildlife and abstracts. Each of my photos tell a story, one I'm happy to share with every image you purchase. There's a reason I chose the setting, style, and eye level, that I'd like you to experience.

I'm proud to share the images below from my project entitled Texas Landscapes. From Big Bend to Galveston, Marfa to Wimberley, these images reflect the amazing scenery across this vast state.

These images are statement pieces, and can be purchased as gallery-wrapped canvas, metal prints, or acrylic prints. My suggested size prints are listed below the image, and larger (or smaller) sized prints are also available. Keep in mind the format ratio when considering other sizes. santa elena

Towering 1,500 feet in Big Bend National Park, the Santa Elena canyon is cut by the Rio Grande River approaching from the west. I'm drawn to bright highlights and dark shadows, and this sunset scene hits all the notes. The massive size of these canyon walls, taller than all the skyscrapers in the U.S. (minus two) is such an awesome sight that I almost forget to the press the shutter on my camera.

Formatted with a 2:1 ratio to provide a panoramic-like scale to brighten your space

Suggested print size: 48"x24"

Canvas $850, Metal, $850, Acrylic $1,050

mexican sunset

I'm drawn to abstract views of known objects. When the subject is over a quarter of a mile tall, the abstract immerses you within its grasp. I made this photograph before the establishing shot above because the sunset lit walls, copper, beige and dark grays alone make a beautiful presentation.

Formatted as 3:2, it'll make a small room look enormous

Suggested print size: 45"x30"

Canvas $750, Metal, $850, Acrylic $1,150

old maverick road

Departing the Santa Elena Canyon overlook toward Lajitas means an hour long drive back through Big Bend National Park's paved roads. However, a detour across the 14-mile, dirt washboard-like Old Maverick Road, especially at night, tests your determination for adventure, and your vehicle's suspension.

Formatted with a wide 3:1 ratio - I'd wallpaper a room with this image

Suggested print size: 48"x16"

Canvas $550, Metal, $650, Acrylic $850

marfa light

If you believe in UFOs, you have something in common with the observers of the Marfa Lights in 1880. My version catches a glorious sunset after a West Texas monsoon. Marfa is a small artist community, and I believe the gold, amber and blue sky is a testament to the beauty of this region. However, just maybe that's a UFO hiding in the circular cloud.

Suggested print size: 45"x30"

Canvas $750, Metal, $850, Acrylic $1,150

chisos at dawn

I don't know about you, but I need a moment when looking at this.

The purple mountains majesty of Pikes Peak may inspire song, but the blue hues of the Chisos range is an awesome calming presence.

Formatted with a 2:1 ratio, this image will fill the wall across the room from your bed, to settle you in for the night

Suggested print size: 48"x24"

curious

Sometimes when processing images, an unexpected subject appears. A morning mist-filled landscape with varieties of green caught my attention. While spending time framing this scene, my favorite image keyed on a white cow staring me down.

Formatted 4:1 - replace your television with this

Suggested print size: 48"x12"

Canvas $450, Metal, $650, Acrylic $650

These two lovebirds hang out in the butterweed, my visit unintentionally disturbs their date. Thank you barbed wire fence.

godbold inc.

An old feed mill borders the Union Pacific rail heading due west into a blinding sunset.

The late company was founded by Roy Godbold - religious or not, gotta hand it to a guy with a last name like that to select a view like this for his business.

Formatted with a 2:1 ratio, fill a wall. Any wall.

Suggested print size: 48"x24"

Canvas $850, Metal, $850, Acrylic $1,050

driftwood

One of my favorite routes on my motorcycle is on a twisting up-and-down country road that cuts through scenes like this. I make it a point to spend my birthday photographing nature, and this view deserved my time. The still creek's water stops at the road's edge, and beautifully reflects these tall cypress, ash and oaks. The owners of this land agree, as their Adirondack chairs await them on the hill.

Formatted 3:2, a beautiful scene to hang near a bath

Suggested print size: 45"x30"

Canvas $750, Metal, $850, Acrylic $1,150

gulf coast

I love silhouettes - when I review images like this, I can't help but to wonder what the subjects are talking about, who they are and what stories they tell. This Galveston Island sunset brings powerful golden colors to the rich hues of the gulf waters, right up to the sunlit sandy beach on which these people gather.

Formatted with a 2:1 ratio, it's perfect for your office wall, reminding you of that wonderful vacation at the beach

Suggested print size: 48"x24"

capt aidan

This fishing trawler appears adrift on a wetland forest colony of Great Egrets, with Galveston Island in the background. The Capt Aidan awaits its crew's return from a weekend retreat to the island, leaving these birds to pick remains of fish and crabs from its hull.

limestone

The multitude of facets and ever-changing color of the face of this limestone cliff in Big Bend screams for an abstract image. If only it was possible to build a living wall walk-in shower out of this image.

Formatted as 3:2, this is an image to adorn a bath

Suggested print size: 45"x30"

rows

Throughout those pandemic days, I rode my motorcycle into the heart of Central Texas. I passed this field during each of the seasons, watching the farmland take shape until a late Spring crop began to emerge. I'm drawn to the engineered lines leading to the outcropping of trees. Vibrant greens pop off the canvas, filling the scene with springtime.

Formatted with a 3:1 ratio, this image reminds me of food - hang it in your dining room

Suggested print size: 48"x16"

big bend bluebonnet

The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas, and under Lady Bird Johnson guidance, Texas Public Works ensures new bluebonnet seeds are spread on the state's highways every year. These perennials pop up in early spring for a few months depending on the rain, but I can attest to some varieties lasting throughout the summer heat into fall.

This specimen found a home in the rocky outcrops of the dry Rio Grande riverbed, and enjoys the view of Santa Elena Canyon in the background.

Formatted 2:1, this tall but slender image fills that awkward wall in the foyer, hallway, or near a doorway
